Computer Problems.
Sometime in 2004, I sold my littel red MR8 that I used to use as a recording device, then I would copy the wav files to the computer for mixing. This worked fucking great, and the quality was excellent and there was never any issues.
When I sold that, I bought a M-audio delta 66 PCI card and I used Ntrack v4. Everything worked perfectly.
My jetway brand motherboard died in early 2005, and I replaced it with an Asus brand. From that point on I have not been able to record a single song. I threw tons of money at this computer to make it work, replaced every part including the MB and sound card.
I gave up this past weekend, after 2 years. I gave the computer to a friend of mine.
I went to the local music store and bought an M-audio mobilepre usb device which I plugged into my imac.
Now things are really working smoothly. Garageband is easy to use and has great sounding effects in it. The sound quality isn't what I'm used to but the average person can't really tell the difference and it's easy to use.
PROBLEM SOLVED. The imac and a USB sound card. Who knew!?
